• Terroir :
    "The Côte Chalonnaise, in Saône et Loire, continues the Côte d'Or southward from the Côte de Beaune to the north of the Mâconnais hills. Montagny, an exclusively white wine, received its AOC in 1936. Like Côte de Nuits and Chassagne-Montrachet, here vines and marble stone work in magical harmony. With their East and South East exposure, the Bajocian hills welcome the vine between 250 and 400 metres in altitude."
  • Vinification & Elevage :
    "These grapes are harvested by hand and placed in small crates to prevent the bunches being compacted. For our white wines, the grapes arrive whole at our pneumatic wine press. Slow gentle pressing allows the juices to be extracted in the best possible conditions. These juices are then placed in a settling vat and cooled to 8° for 24 hours to clarify them. Lastly, they are placed directly in oak barrels (30% of which are new) for alcoholic fermentation where they will develop silky aromas over 12 months."

    Racy and seductive, it offers a delicate bouquet with shades of hazelnut and fern, and a mouth redolent of yellow fruits with mineral notes.

    This Montagny 1er Cru enhances all white meats, and is especially delicious with a thick-cut veal steak with morel sauce.
